Background

The current rapid development of infrastructure in Indonesia requires stakeholders to compete to produce innovations to increase people's needs in running the economy. This aligns with the development of integrated information and communication technology so that innovation in the construction world can develop rapidly. Industrial sectors such as building processes, structural design, and environmentally friendly materials have created and used innovations in construction.

However, the challenges faced by the construction world in Indonesia to realize innovation are very diverse, ranging from human resource competency, digitalization policies, solid waste management, water and wastewater management, and urban public transport which is still hitting the world today. Stakeholders must answer this challenge by thinking more quickly and providing solutions in determining future-oriented infrastructure development steps. For this reason, the 8th Andalas Civil Engineering (8th ACE) National Conference raised the theme "Green Infrastructure Initiatives for Sustainable Development." This conference is expected to be a forum for practitioners and academics to answer these challenges and create anticipatory steps.
