Background

The current rapid development of infrastructure in Indonesia requires stakeholders to compete to produce innovations to meet people's needs in driving the economy. This aligns with the advancement of integrated information and communication technology, enabling innovation in the construction sector to grow rapidly. Industrial sectors such as building processes, structural design, and environmentally friendly materials have embraced and utilized these innovations.

However, the construction sector in Indonesia faces various challenges in realizing these innovations, including human resource competencies, digitalization policies, solid waste management, water and wastewater management, and urban public transport issues. Stakeholders must address these challenges by thinking more strategically and providing solutions to determine steps for future-oriented infrastructure development.

For this reason, the 9th Andalas Civil Engineering (9th ACE) National Conference has chosen the theme "AI and Sustainable Infrastructure for Disaster Mitigation." This conference aims to serve as a platform for practitioners and academics to address these challenges and create anticipatory measures to mitigate disasters effectively while supporting sustainable development.
